Kashish singer wins New England Sa Re Ga Ma (Hindi version of American Idol in the New England area) - Shirish was declared winner in the Sa Re Ga Ma finals held on June 26, 2010 from over 100 contestants. Judges included renowned Bollywood singers and composers.
Upcoming Events
Kashish will perform in a fund raiser in July 2010 for The Boston Pledge (www.thebostonpledge.org), a non-profit in the US focussed on entrepreneurship at the bottom of the pyramid. Stay tuned for details.

Fundraiser Happy Hour & Karaoke Night
On Thursday, April 2, 2009, Pratham-Boston and NetSAP-Boston hosted a Bollywood Karaoke Night at Tantric (one of the hottest lounges in Boston). This event was held to support Pratham's Read India campaign and also to celebrate Pratham's accomplishment in reaching over 21 million children in India through this program. Pratham launched the Read India program in January 2007 with the goal to reach 60 million children and ensure their ability to read, write and do basic math.
The Karaoke Night started with performances by Shirish and Ashish from the new music group "Kashish" (www.kashishtunes.com). The event was very well attended by local professionals, who had an opportunity to sing melodious tunes as well as interact with Pratham core team members. The enthusiasm was evident in the long lines outside Tantric waiting to get in and most of the audience staying till the very end, leading to a sold out event. In addition to fundraising, this event further expanded Pratham’s presense in the greater Boston Area and made additional individuals aware of the current illiteracy issues in India.
